I had applied at Birraporetti's Restaurant in early May of 1999. About a month later I had received a call from the Trainer, she had called on Sunday and I promptly returned her call on Monday. I was told however that she was not in and to try back on Wednesday. So I did, I was told however that she would not be in until Friday evening after 5:00 p.m. I called Friday evening and was told that she was not in yet again, so I politely asked when she would be and to explain that I was not going to be able interview for I was no longer looking for a job but I wanted to speak with the Trainer in order to leave the option open. The Hostess said that she did not know when the Trainer would be in again. When I asked for her to find out she sarcastically said, "Let me find somebody who cares!" Another girl answered next and told me to call the girl at home. I re-explained my situation and she told me not to call back and nobody wanted to help me. Of course I called back, now completely livid and asked to speak to the Manager. I was told however that all three managers were in a meeting and not to be disturbed. To make a long story short, I called the manager Monday morning. Oddly enough, he was in yet another meeting. Eventually, one of the head servers interrupted this meeting and the manager became indignant after I congratulated him on having the worst staff I had ever encountered. He told me that I had now pissed him off and proceded to tell me that his staff is a reflection of himself, I of course agreed and asked him if that concerned him. He replied by saying what are you some kind of F_cking Punk. This certainly is not the way for a professional General Manager to behave and I find it remarkable that he even retains this position. I asked him who the corporate owner were and he said, "I am Corporate." He did hang up on me shortly after the conversation began.
