Your Review:
Reservation was made three days in advance. We arrived on time, and were
escorted to a table that was directly in the blazing sun, in very close
quarters. We should have worn dark sun glasses and sunscreen! Waiters
and waitresses constantly brushed past our table, and there was a complete
lack of privacy. Hotel guests and beach goers were also constantly squeezing
past our table. The food was essentially unremarkable. The bread was dry,
and the waiter only brought butter upon request. The caesar salads were
average. My wife had lamb with pasta, which resembled something that I
could have thrown together in about 15 minutes at home. My Mahi Mahi was
completely soaked in oil, and was served with tasteless, soggy potato
slices. We quickly ate our dinners, skipping dessert out of eagerness
to escape the hostile environmental climate. Other patrons were similarly
disgruntled by the poor ambiance, asking to be reseated elsewhere. Needless
to say, we will not return again! Reviewed By: Ray Smith -rdsmith@uci.edu

Your Review: We had made reservations a night in advanced. We arrived there and we got
escorted to our table outside pretty much on the beach. It was beautiful. Our waiter was
very nice and he always made sure that we had everything we needed. He made recomendations
on some dishes so that was helpful. I ordered a chicken dish tha was excellent. The view
was the best. You can listen to the waves breaking, its a great place to go on a date.

Your Review: we live in Laguna Beach and dine out often. Splashes has
the best restaurant view in town, combined with consistently excellent
food and very good service. you can sit outdoors behind glass panels (beware
of hot sunny days), or indoors at cool & breezy bay windows or by the
fireplace, or at a small table in the walk-in bar, all looking directly
above the beach at open ocean views of Catalina Island. We take guests
to Splashes whenever we want to give them a big taste of So. Cal. beach
life and excellent California cuisine. It is a bit pricey starting at
$15/person lunch, or $25/person dinner, but well worth it. One of our
favorites.

Review: Went for Sunday brunch and fell in love with it. We sat outside,
just above the crashing surf. It was a little chilly so our waiter turned
on the nearby heater. Perfect! Food was wonderful - especially smoked
salmon on bagel and cinnamon roll french toast. Will drive back up from
San Diego again when visiting at Easter. Name: Mary Pratten
