Restaurant review: I visited Il Ghiotto to try the "delicious
tiramisu" as was written up extensively by Elmer Dills in a review.
While the food was pretty good, the service was the worst service I have
ever had in my life and I was treated so rudely in fact that I will not
go back there. Let me tell you: When I arrived, it was not busy at all,
slow weekday, a few guests on the back patio. I was not greeted at all
and was seated in stark silence in the far corner of a restaurant inside
down on the lower level. It took foreeever for someone to come over to
me to give me a menu finally, and then another 20 mins. for someone to
come and take my order. I could tell the employees were just talking
and hanging out on the patio outside or joking around in the kitchen.
(Why they didn't seat me out there or at least on the upper level if I
was going to be inside, I have no idea.) I ordered the manicotti and
asked to change my seat and was told that it wasn't feasibl!
e. It was about another 40 minutes for the manicotti to arrive.
Normally I would've already walked out by now, except Elmer Dills had
really written up this really intense review for this tiramisu, and
being the tiramisu connesieur that I am and since that was the reason
I'd went there at all, I really wanted to try it. After I was finished
(no one ever checked on me), I waited forever for someone to get my
plate. I almost got up to go look for somebody but they came just as I
was about to. At that time my bill was brought and I mentioned (again)
that I would like to order the tiramisu, but this time was told that the
ingredients they had to make it they were hold for their dinner
customers and there wouldn't be enough for me now. (Aside from this
being rude, they could've at least told me this before when I mentioned
it and I wouldn't have stayed.) Upon leaving, I talked to the owner who
had come out of the kitchen about how I had come to his restaurant in
order to t!
ry his tiramisu, and he asked if I'd read the Elmer Dills rev!
iew to which I'd replied yes, to which he got really cocky and told me
that THAT "took a careful preparation and was exclusive." (I
couldn't believe he was so arrogant! You could tell he was sooo proud
of it.) I politely held my tongue and paid and abruptly left. On a
positive note, the manicotti was good.. however there is absolutely
nothing that could warrant a return visit to such a restaurant. (BTW,
the best tiramisu that I've found, if you're into it, is at DeLuca's on
Whittier Blvd in Whittier - :) ).

Your Review: The best bread and bruschetta I've ever had! The bread is baked fresh everyday. I recommend the Filetto Al Pepe - just bursting with flavor! Try the Osso Buco as well! They make their own Tiramisu and it is to die for! You have to try the Spumoni - best ice cream you will ever have!

Your Review: Il Ghitto has a very extensive menu. All their food
is fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is really nice.
The music they have is nice and soft. Excellent place to go
on a date, either for dinner and lunch.
