Restaurant review: Well, OK, I don't know what planet the first reviewer
came from, but this restuarant has the best chinise food in Orange
County hands down. I've eaten there many times. The food is always
excellent.

Restaurant review: We just had one of the best dining experiences of our
lives. Me along with my wife and two teenage sons arrived at
approximately 6PM on Friday night. We were seated immediately. Once
seated a very friendly gentleman (looked like the manager) took our
drink orders. He was friendly and funny! Shortly thereafter our waiter
came for our order but we were not ready. He came back as soon as he
observed that we were ready, and was very helpful in answering our
questions and suggesting some very good appetizers. The appetizers
arrived within minutes. The main course came shortly after served by
numerous servers and everything was extraordinary! Not only could we
tell that this was authentic Chinese food but there was plenty of it!
The meal came with complimentary watermelon, fortune cookies and a
delicious fruit - almond pudding desert! A very reasonable price for
some real Chinese food, and terrific service! I would recommend this
restaurant to everyone.

Your Review: I've just had the WORST dining experience of my life !!! At Sam Woo Seafood (not the express next door) Restaurant. Our family somehow decided to go to dinner in this "well-advertised" restaurant. We don't usually cook at night, so we always eat out in restaurants. We were "greeted" by this impatient waiter with a "captain" badge. We were then shown to a table, and we were ready to order. This "captain" came out, again very impatiently and obnoxiously asking what do we want and if we don't hurry up, we may not be able to get any food. We didn't even have time to even read through the menu, we just ordered three plates. We were fairly annoyed by this time, and I guess he could see it from our faces. Then another waiter came and without notice, carelessly dropped the plates on our table. We could see that the rice was left-overs from other people, seeing the brown stuff on the rice. We were extremely angry at the service, but we kept quiet and without eating any more, we asked for take-out containers. Then we left, stomach empty. Actually, we were afraid that they spat in our plates, before taking them out, as we saw white bubbled area on one of the plates. So, our review of the place if you don't care about hygene, service, go for it at Sam Woo, where dirty plates, cups, and waiter with temper are at your service. But this is our last time there. If they don't like people coming 10 minutes before their closing hour, tell us in the beginning and we would be happy to go to another restaurant, like China West. Last time we went to China West 10 minute after their closing time, we were greeted with a smile. They explained to us that they were closed but politely explained that the cook may still cook a few limited plates for us. We stayed and they even told us to not rush and take our time. Naturally, we finished our dinner quickly and we left with stomach full and walked out the door with smiles.

Favorite dish: Glazed Walnut Shrimp
Restaurant review: Popular Chinese restaurant w/seafood specialty. Can be very crowded at lunch--had to wait a while even 15 minutes before noon on a Wednesday. Service can be confusing with multiple servers but has always been adequate and fairly prompt. Nothing eye-popping on the menu, but the sweet Glazed Walnut Shrimp is interesting. All items I have tried have been at or above average.
