Inadequate Restaurant review: My family ate here on Christmas and
we had a terrible experience. We arrived, very hungry and placed our order.
The waitress arrived 15 minutes later and told us we had been given the lunch
menu and would have to re-order. The waitress did not provide any alternative and
did not apologize. The rest of the night, the service was terrible. We sat
with empty glasses during the meal. I do not recommend this restaurant for
anyone. Name: Joan Your city: Newport Beach

Favorite Dish: Nothing Your Review: Took some out of town guests
there on 6/1/02 (Saturday). Told that there was a 15 minute wait for normal tables,
so probably "a bit more" for an outside patio table. Started getting
hungry and late for our concert after 30 minutes, after 40 minutes were promised
a table soon. After one hour, we were assured for the umpteenth time that we'd
be seated any minute. During our long wait servers and hosts were running around
like mad. Made you feel like you were in the way, rather than working around you
as you'd expect. Finally got a table, mildly expressed our dissatisfaction with
the wait, but said we were looking forward to the food. Were given an appetizer
for free as a peace offering. Saw server once in the first 20 minutes even after
they knew we were slightly annoyed. Pork Chop was lukewarm at best, sides were
just plain cold. Finally saw server 10 minutes later, told them to take it back
and credit me. Other people at the table finished their decent mea! ls, then waited
again for about 10 minutes before we were able to flag down the server to get
our check. An ultra-speedy 10 minutes later I had signed my charge and we left,
late to our concert. Extremely disappointing. Years ago I would have been very
surprised, as the Brennan family of restaurants in New Orleans and Houston have
been perennial favorites - some of the best ever. But, after our October 2001
trip with bad experiences at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse and Brennan's proper,
it doesn't surprise me. Avoid this place until they get their act together.
